No, the average cotton towel (terry cloth or turkish) only has a UPF factor between 5-7. When your regular towel gets wet, your towel drops to about UPF 3, which exposes your skin to harmful UV radiation.
HOW DO I CLEAN MY UPF 50 TOWEL?
Easy! Just like any other towel. We recommend washing your towel in a mild detergent with cold water using a washing machine. Use your conventential drying machine on low heat. Our towel has been lab tested to continue its UPF 50+ fabric rating even after 100 machine washes & dryings.
HOW DOES OUR TOWEL BLOCK 98% OF UVA & UVB SUN RAYS?
The UPF 50+ Sunscreen Towel is made from UPF 50+ fabric that has been thoroughly tested by an independent lab (certifications upon request). Our towel is not treated with a chemical to achieve this level of protection. Our specially woven fabric is so tightly knit that it blocks 98% of UVA and UVB sun rays. Additionally, our fabric provides a 4-way stretch without losing its protection from the sun.
